September 11

The Bitch Factor I work in a business that caters to wedding and wedding party customers, and I am really shocked that we have sold quite a few gifts for weddings taking place today, September 11, 2004. It's only been 3 years, people, have you forgotten already? Why would you want your anniversary to be September 11? I suppose one could argue that it's a life-affirming thing, but I think it's disrespectful. Is it just me?

I think a lot of people are getting married on that day because places that are usually heavily booked have September 11th open. 2 years ago when I was booking my wedding for May of THIS year, the only Saturday that was open for the WHOLE year was September 11th. All the other Saturdays had been booked!

Well, my assistant, who grew up in Europe, tells me that people who feel as I do are the reason Europe views us as a bunch of wimps. Oh, well.
